Our School Factions are named after famous  men who explored our Mid West region.

Hartog Heroes (red) Dirk Hartog. First European to land on the WA coast. Dirk Hartog Island is named after him.
Houtman Hurricanes (blue) Frederick de Houtman. Dutch navigator who landed on the North West coast.  First to sight the Houtman Abrolhos Islands off Geraldton.
Pelsaert Power (gold)  Francisco Pelsaert.  Charted part of the WA coast. Captain of the  Batavia which ran aground on the reef of the Houtman Abrolhos Islands.

*Historical Faction (not currently used): Forrest Flames (green) John Forrest.  West Australian explorer and first premier of  the state.
